Terms of Service

The Chinese version is the authoritative text of these terms. If any other language version is inconsistent with it, the Chinese version prevails.

1. The Service

DarkReel (the "Site") is a private archive for film research. In a scholarly and archival spirit it collects, studies and presents films that have long sat outside the mainstream narrative. The service covers: film record search, previews, in-depth articles, community discussion and subscriptions.

2. Age Restriction

The Site contains explicit adult content. Only visitors who are at least 18 years old — or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher — may access and use it. Entering the Site confirms that you meet that age. Minors may not use any part of the service.

3. Nature of the Content

The film records and articles here are compiled for the purposes of film history and academic research; reprinted material is credited to its source. You understand and agree that the Site provides records and viewing access only — it does not produce the films themselves, and the sources are served by lawfully licensed media servers.

4. Accounts and Subscriptions

When registering you must provide true and accurate information and keep your credentials safe. Subscriptions are charged at the price shown at the time and paid through the channel offered on the subscription page. After cancellation, fees already paid for the current period are not refunded, and you keep the corresponding benefits until that period ends. Single-title purchases are one-off and governed by these terms.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to post in the community: unlawful or infringing material, hate speech, harassment or personal attacks, spam or advertising, copyrighted content reposted without authorisation, or any content inappropriate in relation to minors. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site's design, interface, original articles and compiled catalogues are protected by applicable law. Copyright in reprinted material belongs to the original authors; if a rights holder believes content infringes, they may reach us through the contact page and we will act on it after verification.

7. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continuity, timeliness or freedom from interruption. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

8. Changes and Termination

We may update these terms from time to time; updates are published on this page. If you breach them, we may suspend or terminate your account. Obligations incurred before termination remain in force.
